Founded by the Registry, the institute provides top-tier maritime education and job placement for Liberian youth, significantly benefiting the local economy. The Liberian government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Liberia Maritime Authority, reaffirmed its dedication to supporting the Registry and tackling global maritime challenges, including security and freedom of navigation.
In his address, Liberia Maritime Authority Commissioner/CEO Cllr. Neto Zarzar Lighe announced the imminent renewal of a cooperative maritime agreement with the People's Republic of China, which promises considerable cost savings for shipowners. He emphasized the importance of maintaining strong relationships between the Registry and shipowners, advocating for continued collaboration to uphold shared values of safety, security, and environmental protection.
